keep calm and pretend it's on the lesson plan.

For serious. But to make sure that your lesson plans are as accurate as possible, I have posted my lesson plan template at my TPT Shop!

In January, I shared my planning process with you and showed how I have chosen to hang my lesson plans on a filing cabinet next to my desk for quick and easy reference.

I have had several requests to share this template, so today's your lucky day!

A couple of notes: The template you will find on TPT is a Word document, so you have the ability to edit and customize the template to fit your specific needs. Hooray, custom! Also, in order to honor copyright policies, I did have to alter a couple of fonts and remove the images I include in my plans. If you would like to insert the images, all of them can be found at Thistle Girl Designs! The fonts I used on the template are listed in its description on TPT, so feel free to download those fonts (all free!) as well!

Also, several of you let me know that you were having trouble downloading my Curriculum Planning documents that I shared with you here.

These documents have also been added to my TPT shop as a Word document, so again they are editable and customizable!

I have just finished completing our team's curriculum calendar and am smitten to say the least!

And of course no document is complete without a chevron-laiden cover!

Hopefully these documents will help us all get organized, planned, and ready for the upcoming school year!

Keep calm, y'all!

  1. What font did you use in your September calendar? (Not for the word "September," but for the contents of the calendar.)

    1. For the Content Headers, I used "Smiley Monster" from www.kevinandamanda.com.

For the dates and actual curriculum notes, I used the "Caitlin" font from http://reallyquitelucky.blogspot.com/p/fonts.html

      Hope that helps!

  3. I am new to your blog, and really liked the way you laid out your yearly plan. I would love to have something similar, but am kind of overwhelmed by the process of plunking things down. Did you have a certain method to your madness, so to speak? :-)

    1. Hi Kim! Unfortunately this was one of those tasks that took a lot of time and concentration over the summer, but it made the school year so much more relaxed! As for my method, I printed all of our district's curriculum documents that lay out our state standards in chronological/developmental order. Then, I just went through subject by subject and input a short description of each unit of study into each week's subjects. I would say it took me 4-5 days to complete the entire curriculum planner for the year - a small price to pay for an entire year to be planned! If you'd like a copy of my curriculum calendar, you can find it here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/2013-2014-EditableCustomizable-Curriculum-Planning-Calendar-618834!

      Thanks, Kim!

  6. Hi,
New to your blog and love it...Question. I downloaded the font Caitlyn..but it doesn't look like the one you used to type your lessons under each day of the week. Did you use a different font for that? I'm looking at your calendar for 12-13..Thanks...Sometimes I can be a little font obsessed.

    1. Hi Pamela! I'm so glad you are enjoying the blog. Ok, you're going to kill me, because I know how awesome new fonts are, but I cannot for the life of me remember which font I used there! Ah! I just went through my entire list and can't find the one that matches! I will blame young Eryn in her early blogging days for not noting that! So sorry I couldn't be of more help!
